Delving into the history of the Kanjivaram sari, it becomes apparent that the motifs and designs are closely interrelated to the temples of Kanchipuram. The Kanjeevaram silk has a special connection with weddings in South India, as the patterns are said to reflect the harmonious relationship between the bride and the groom.

The demand for Kanjeevaram Silk Saree is so high that dupes have been made of the same. However, to differentiate between the real ones from the duplicate, you just need to check a few things

1. The material of the original Kanjeevaram Saree's border is made in contrast with the body of the garment.
2. The 'zaris' they use are made of real gold and silver but the duplicate ones are oxidized threads.
3. If you burn a thread of the Kanjeevaram Silk Saree, it will burn into ashes leaving a leathery Smell

So, if you are a fashionista grab your piece of Kanjeevaram to complete your wardrobe.
